The Congregation Council work to ensure that Good Shepherd as a whole is focused on the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. This includes; long-range planning, involving all members in worship and service, provide for the administration of the congregation, and to build a supportive relationship with the pastor and staff.
What better way to “Praise the Lord!” than through music, and at Good Shepherd, we offer many opportunities to do just that. Whether it be through singing in our choir, playing with our hand bell group, or special musical offerings —glory is given to God through the gift of music.
The Worship Committee creates a worship atmosphere that enables God's people to enter into, discover, and grow in relationship to God and one another. This committee works with the Pastor to develop our Sunday worship services as well as special services, events, and programs that enhance the life of our congregation.
The Mission Outreach Committee provides ministry to different mission areas locally, nationally, and internationally. This group is responsible for many projects including the water wells, foster care supplies. the back pack project, the food shelf collection project and many more!
The property committee gives oversight to the ongoing maintenance, both short-term and long-term, of the church property. Their task is to develop plans and make recommendations to the church council on property issues and help leadership in raising and assessing the potential funding for property and facility projects. These properties include the church building, Sunday school building, and parsonage. The mission of the property committee is to continually look towards the future needs of the congregation and to keep the facility in the best possible condition so as to preserve it for many generations to come.
The Cemetery Committee is responsible for the care, management, and the operation of the cemeteries of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Our cemeteries include; Augustana, Greenwood, Oak Park, Seljord, Westby, Silver Creek, and Clearwater.
