Tips for Quarantine

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Here are top 10 tips for this time of quarantine.

1)    Faith practice

  • Pray

  • Bible Study

  • Read

  • Music

  • Serve neighbors

2)    Schedule the day

  • Set a schedule for the day. When we are home all day, it is easy for the day to pass by and didn’t accomplish what we wanted.

3)    Dress professionally

  • I know it is nice to work in sweatpants and pajamas. Sometimes wearing professional attire makes us feel more professional.

4)    Establish work space

  • If you are working or taking classes from home, establish a work space. This makes “going to work” possible, and even more importantly, it makes “leaving work” possible.

5)    Intentional Device time

  • It is easy to binge-watch Netflix or spend way too much time on social media. There is nothing wrong with catching up on your favorite shows, but have a plan. Set some boundaries for yourself.

6)    Unplug

  • Unplug yourself from your devices and take some time to play board games, card games, crafts, or puzzles.

7)    Communicate with others in the house

  • If you are married and spending more time than usual with your spouse, this can be a time of growing together, but it can also be difficult on marriages. Communicate what you are feeling and thinking. You might need to create some intentional time apart and some intentional time together. Quarantine is not easy. It’s not unusual to be irritated. Find healthy ways to cope and communicate.

8)    Communicate with others NOT in the house

  • Take the time to make a phone call or write a letter. Let people know you are thinking about them and praying for them.

9)    Go Outside/Exercise

  • Get some fresh air!

10)  Sabbath

  • Give yourself a break. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to get everything done. Take time to Sabbath!
